How did poeple use and measure time in the former ages?
To measure time:
- migrant birds
- as the dry season draws near some animals are with a high grease content
- posistion of stars
- bugle in the colonial time
- stalk of straw that we set up at every lunar coming out (12 stalks = one year) or for women at every menstruation
- natural phenomenons or events
To use time:
- at walking, the women go and fetch water and prepare the breakfast. During this time, the man go to harvest his palm wine.
After the breakfast, they go at bush on their return, the women deal with housework, whereas the men go and join other men at the public square to discuss many topics (about the life in the village).
